A Journey to The $1 Million in 90 Days Challenge: Day 9 – Key Learnings for the week

Here are the things I learned this week.

What we focus on grows. I realized that I’m focusing my attention to the wrong things people are doing. I recognize their mistakes more often as compared to the right things that they do. That’s why most of the time, I feel frustrated, I lack patience, and blame them for doing the things they do (or the things they don’t do). I learned that I need to shift my mindset to focus on the things that are worthy of praise. I need to be grateful. I need to be patient and I need to be more understanding. In short, I need to focus on the positive trait of others as well as my positive responses.

Mentors are all around us. I learned this one from the One Minute Millionaire book. There are no accidents. God placed us on a particular place at a particular time in a group of certain individuals for us to learn something that is very useful for our success. This just shows that God is a generous God. He uses every moment of our life for us to learn something new. He is constantly sending angels for us to grow in the form of people, trials, books, events etc. In order to see them, we need to open our eyes and focus on the things we’ll learn on these situations.

God will give us everything we want. Just like any other parents, God wants us to succeed. God wants us to have the best things the universe has to offer. God wants us to enjoy the abundance of his universe. However, there’s one thing that hinders us from receiving this grace: ungratefulness. The moment we become ungrateful we will fail to recognize God’s blessings.

I’m excited for more blessings tomorrow!

A Journey to The $1 Million in 90 Days Challenge: Day 8 - What You Focus On Grows

I had a realization this morning. Tito Tony asked me the traits of my father, good and bad. As I was replying on his message I realized that my father is doing a good job in providing for the family. He works hard. He works everyday. He works on the scorching heat of the sun everyday. He is good in finding new clients for our business.

On the other hand, he lacks financial management. He sleeps a lot (especially during midday) even if there are still some clients waiting for their stocks to come. He thinks negatively most of the time. He has this scarcity mentality that he is always short of capital and even fuel for our car.

My dad has all the traits listed above.

Here’s what I realized. What I focused on grows. I focus on my dad’s negative traits or bad habits. This gave me an impression that he’s not a good provider. This gave me a connotation that my dad has this negative mindset.

Well in fact, these things may be true but these traits are not 100% of him. There’s still goodness in him that’s why he works hard. I guess he’s just frustrated because he can’t do things with our approval. He lacks support from our end.

Tomorrow, I’ll change my mindset. Instead of focusing on the negative things, I’ll focus more on the positive things. We’ll wait and see.

I’ll definitely do this tomorrow.

A Journey to The $1 Million in 90 Days Challenge: Day 7 – Establish Goals and Then Act

It’s 12:12AM. I just got home from a financial seminar with Rex Mendoza of Ayala Land. I learned a lot from his talk. It’s about what’s next for the Philippines.

Generally, according to him now is the time to invest. The market condition is expected to go up but it will be a rough ride.

Once again he suggested that we stick to the fundamentals with regards to investing. First we need to establish our goals and objective why we are doing this. Of course we want to have our dreams fulfilled so we need to plan. More importantly we need to act.

It’s getting late. I’ll be going to sleep. I’ll talk more about this tomorrow.

Getting ready for a super Thursday!

A Journey to The $1 Million in 90 Days Challenge: Day 6 - Words Have Power

This is my first emotional post.

My 90-day journey to $1Million will not be complete if I haven’t fixed my relationship with my parents. For the longest time, this is the cross I’m carrying. I have a civil relationship with my father. I want that to be fixed while doing my journey towards the $1Million. $1Million will be useless if I could not share it to my family especially my father.

Well, you see, my father previously worked for a company for almost 20 years. He’s been an employee ever since I was born. He was a supervisor of that company. I could not imagine how much his monthly salary but I know it was more than enough our monthly household expenses. My mom does not worry about finances before.

Then my father retired. He got his retirement fund and invested it all in a business which after several years he could not keep intact. He started the business big and little by little he mismanaged his resources and now he can’t even support my siblings who are still studying. My father could not provide anymore. He cannot even provide enough capital to continue his business but he keeps on trying. He lacks discipline. He is negative towards his business. He is negative towards his life. Frustrated? I think so. But is he doing something to fix it? I don’t know.

My mom is always crying when my siblings are enrolling for the semester due to lack of funds.
This is the reason why I have this seed of anger in my heart for my father. I don’t like seeing my mother crying in front of me. I don’t like her worrying too much on tuition fees. I don’t like it when my father is oversleeping in the afternoon while customers are calling for a delivery.

Before, I thought that I have done enough. But for the last couple of days I realized that what I did is not enough. I need to create more drastic moves. The title of this post is the key to fix that relationship. I know the answers are within me. I know my words have power. It can either build or destroy relationships. So for the longest time, I did not create an open communication with my father. I just escape discussion by being silent most of the time. Well, it does not serve me well. So instead of being silent, I will talk more. I will talk with passion and positivity to build the relationship back. I can do this.

I’ll greet him good morning even if he does not respond.

I’ll tell him stories even if he does not want to listen.

I’ll listen to him more even if I don’t like the topic.

I’ll do my best to give him more positive mindset.

I can do this!

A Journey to The $1 Million in 90 Days Challenge: Day 5 - Everything I need comes to me

This is a powerful incantation. Everything I need comes to me.

I experienced this incantation’s awesome power today.

First, I said to myself that I’ll be going out of the office at 4pm to accompany Edel to Los Banos to have their printer fixed. That thing happened even if I had an emergency call at 3:30PM with my boss (unexpectedly). At 3:44PM we haven’t talked about the issues regarding our service report which is the main purpose of our discussion. 3:45PM we started talking about it. I’m starting to feel nervous but I said this incantation on my mind. At 3:59PM, my boss told me that someone is calling her for an important meeting. Wow! Everything I need comes to me.

Second, we brought the printer to the shop then we looked for a computer shop for the Laguna Internet Marketing Workshop. Since we believe in the powerful incantation we got a computer shop with 33 powerful computers, a good comfort room (a requirement) and the best location at a very affordable price. Call that wow moment! We’re in a roll.

Third, we looked for a location where the mentor will be staying for the workshop. You won’t believe this but we found one. Less than 5 minute jeepney drive away from the computer shop at a very affordable price as well. Imagine that!

Wow. Definitely, this is one of the greatest days of my life so far! :D

Excited for the things that will happen tomorrow!

A Journey to The $1 Million in 90 Days Challenge: Day 4 - Realizations

I learned a valuable lesson today. Being wealthy does not mean having thousand of money in your investment funds. Being wealthy does not mean having multiple businesses that enables you to earn more than you could spend. Being wealthy does not mean you have thousands of great ideas that can be turned into pots of gold.

Having lots of money does not bring happiness all the time. Judas Iscariot received a huge sum of money but he regretted it. He was unhappy because he betrayed a friend. He was unhappy because of guilt he felt inside his heart.

Being wealthy means a balanced life. A time balanced for God, for family, for friends and colleagues, for yourself (health) and for your work (which gives you funds).

In order to achieve a wealthy life we need to work hard for it.

In order to have a great connection to our God, we need to pray unceasingly. We need to have that intimate connection with the Supreme Being. We need to be involved in work for his Kingdom to give Him more glory and praise.

In order to build happy relationships, we need to spend more time with them. We need to understand them. We need to be with them through successes and failures. We need to work hard to restore broken relationships.

In order to have good health, we need to exercise. We need to have enough sleep. We need to eat the right foods at the right quantity.

In order to have our financial freedom, we need to work hard and work smart.

In short, we need to work hard to attain the wealth we want. We need to go out of our unusual self to fix the problem. We need to step out of our comfort zone to solve the problem.

To summarize, I realized that our dreams are just outside our comfort zone waiting for us.

I’m excited to go outside my comfort zone.

A Journey to The $1 Million in 90 Days Challenge: Day 3 - Serendipity Walk + Business Ideas

Today, I had a serendipity walk/jog. I never had this jog in Calamba before. This morning was the first. Most of my jogging activities were in UP Los Banos.

Here are the things I realize. Most of the business establishments here in Calamba have the same products. I saw lots of bakeries, lots of flower shops, lots of funeral parlor, lots of art signs. I wonder if they still earn that much with that kind of competition. They need to stand out if they want to succeed. Maybe, they just created the same line of business when they noticed that their neighbor is doing well in that line of business. They have this line, “if they can do it I can do it as well”. Will they succeed in following other’s line of business? It is something to think about but I don’t want to focus on it.

Anyway, I had a great walk. I did some incantations which are suggested by Anthony Robbins in his Daily Magic Get the Edge and Personal Power II Audio Program. I prayed as well while jogging, it gave me a boost to witness God’s awesome creation.

Also, I had tons of great ideas for achieving my goal. First, I’ll be hosting an event here in Laguna. I will be conducting an Internet Marketing Workshop here in Laguna. I just prepared some teasers. Hopefully I’ll release them not later than Monday. Second idea is to have my girlfriend’s nephew to paint some greeting cards for events. I texted this idea to my mentor and to my surprise he said that this project is a pot of gold! Wow.

I guess that’s about it for this day. I had a fun day.

Excited for tomorrow’s activities!

PS. I got my own copy of The One Minute Millionaire book. I’ll look for Success Principles tomorrow in Festival.
